Northside Elementary Food Drive – The Spirit of Giving Back!

Spring is almost here, and Northside Student Leadership is excited to host our Annual Spirit of Giving Back Food Drive to support families in our community. 💛

We are collecting non-perishable food items from March 16 – April 1, 2026. Every donation helps!

✨ Fun classroom challenge:

Each elementary classroom will receive a bunny.

For every 10 items donated, the bunny earns a whisker! 🐰

The grade with the most whiskers wins the traveling trophy! 🏆

Let’s come together to help those in need and show our amazing Northside spirit!

This is a message from St. James Public Schools. St. James Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, March 16th. Due to current road closures, SJCC and SBTB will be closed tomorrow. Tomorrow will be an E-Learning Day. Teachers will post learning activities by 10:00am.

🎉 ACCESS Testing Celebrations at Northside Elementary! 🎉

This week, our Northside K–5th Grade ELD students completed their ACCESS testing!

After weeks of hard work and dedication, they celebrated their achievements with a fun party on Tuesday filled with smiles, laughter, games, and lots of fun!

A huge thank you to our amazing ELD teachers for all their support, encouragement, and guidance throughout the testing process!

We are so proud of all 206 students who participated this year! Great job, Northside learners! 📚✨

🎨✨ Art Show Night at Northside Elementary! ✨🎨
On Monday, March 9th, families at Northside Elementary came together to celebrate creativity and expression at our Art Show! Students from all grades displayed their incredible artwork!

Guests enjoyed exploring vibrant student creations, learning about different artistic techniques, and seeing the imagination of our young artists come to life. It was an inspiring evening full of color, creativity, and community pride!

STEM Night at Northside Elementary! 🌱🔬🐝

On Monday, March 9th, 3rd–5th Grade families at Northside Elementary enjoyed an exciting STEM Night with the Bell Museum, exploring 10 hands-on stations.

Students engineered catapults and rockets, practiced birding, investigated animal clues, learned about pollination, created flowers and garden designs, built a community garden mural, and made seed germination kits to grow at home.

It was a fun evening of curiosity, creativity, and discovery!

Northside Elementary Art Show Night is happening Monday, March 9th from 5:00pm–7:00pm!

The K–5 Art Show will be held in the cafeteria, and students may take their art projects home when they leave. It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the creativity and hard work of our Northside artists!

Please plan to join us for an evening of art, innovation, and community. Juice and cookies will be provided. 🍪

This month, the Sun Room Cafe was a huge hit! Our students proudly served Shirley Temples to four classrooms, and the kids absolutely loved getting to top off their drinks with a bright red maraschino cherry! Our staff also enjoyed some delicious treats, including peanut butter banana smoothies and our famous cold brew days, always a crowd favorite! As we head into March, we can’t help but wonder… what special surprise will our sneaky little leprechaun bring to the Sun Room Café next? Stay tuned! 🍀✨

Look at the #StJamesMSHS students and staff supporting Ellie Romsdahl as she competes at the individual state wrestling tournament. Ellie won her first wrestleback match by fall in 3:57. Way to go, Ellie! #GoSpartans

Congratulations to Aubrey Romsdahl on being named to the Big South Conference Gymnastics All-Conference team! St. James gymnasts completed their first gymnastics season as part of a cooperative with New Ulm. Way to go, Aubrey!

The St. James Area Girls prevailed over Pipestone Area last night 72-56.

The girls move on to the South Section Final where they will face off against Fairmont - tomorrow night at 7:00pm .
